Mark Petkovsek will take over the Kelly baseball program. Petkovsek played three seasons for the University of Texas Longhorns, where he lettered and graduated. He played more than seven seasons in Major League Baseball for the Rangers, Pirates, Cardinals and Angels before retiring in the 2001 season. He has been the Kelly pitching coach the past two seasons.
Robert “Bobby” Knowles will lead the Kelly softball program. Knowles has served as president of the Gulf Coast Girls Softball League for four years and has coached select softball.
Nathan Stockie will step up from girls and boys varsity assistant coach into his first head coaching job as the boys’ varsity soccer head coach. Stockie played collegiate soccer at Long Island University-Brooklyn, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Science. From Brooklyn, he moved to play professionally in Finland and continued to work as a player-coach. He currently serves as an Assistant Coach for Lamar University’s women’s soccer program.
Chris Sherman will serve as Kelly’s boys and girls golf coach. Sherman holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Houston and an All-level certification in Physical Education from the TEA. He began coaching as a student assistant with Lamar University’s Women’s Volleyball Program and was most recently was the Athletic Director at All Saints Episcopal School in Beaumont.
