Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School Mock Trial team will represent Region 5 at State Mock Trial in Dallas. This is the 13th consecutive year for MKCHS Mock Trial to advance to State.
Sophomore Isabel Meadows won best witness in the Regional Competition and will receive a $500 scholarship at Law Day. In the first ever Region 5 Courtroom Artist Contest, sophomore Franya Blanton will advance to the State competition as well.
Team members are student attorneys Bailey Braneff, Shanil Jasani, Kyle McDaniel, John Oliverio and Nicholas Shanning. Student witnesses include Isabel Meadows, Jeffery Penning, Parsa Safa, Sarah Waddill and Jackson Winslow.
MKCHS Mock Trial is coached by two Kelly alumni attorneys, Mark Sparks and Ryan Gertz. Joanna Clark coaches drama and Priyanka Dev, a law clerk for Chief Justice Ron Clark, also serves as a team coach.
