This past February, KDF took a team trip to New York City. While in the city, the team participated in a Rockette Intensive held at the Broadway Dance Center. The team also participated in Disney Broadway Master Class, where they learned a part of a routine from the newest Broadway show, Frozen. To top that day off, the team went to watch Frozen at the famous St. James Theatre. During these classes, the girls were taught new tools and techniques that they can incorporate into their team practices. They were able to explore the city, have a little fun and most importantly bond as a team in the Big Apple.
Between February and March, the team competed at the Crowd Pleasers Regional Competition held at Magnolia High School and the Ascension Dance State Competition. The team and officer groups received numerous awards including Best In Class for all team routines and many specialty awards for technique, performance quality and choreography. To top it off and saving the best for last, the team received the Academic Award of Excellence at both competitions for having the highest team GPA of 3.92!
Following Spring Break, Kelly Dance Force held tryouts for the upcoming year. They are thrilled to be adding 6 new members. New members are: Rylee Bacon, Kaitlin Burns, Lily Hebert, Emma Kiker, Rebekah Kirkendahl, and Caroline Wulf. KDF is excited to see what next year holds!
KDF will be hosting their Annual Spring Show on Friday, April 26 at the Jefferson Theatre. Tickets are available from any current or new member. KDF will be showcasing their competition dances as well as additional routines. We hope to see you all there!
