MKCHS Names Michele Smith as Graduation Commencement Speaker
Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School has named Michele Smith, chair of MehaffyWeber’s Marketing Committee and shareholder, as the 2019 Graduation Commencement speaker. Smith, a MKCHS graduate of the class of 1984, will speak to the graduating seniors on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Beaumont Civic Center at 4 p.m.
Smith joined MehaffyWeber in 1993. She has more than 20 years of diverse jury trial experience. She represents clients in general civil litigation, with a concentration in complex litigation and products liability. She has also coordinated state-wide litigation for several national clients.
She is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She has been a shareholder with the firm since 1999. Smith is an Advocate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), Houston Chapter and serves on the Pattern Jury Charge Committee in Products Liability for the State Bar of Texas.
Among her many awards and recognitions, Smith was selected to the Texas Super Lawyers® list, Super Lawyers ® (Thomson Reuters) in 2005 to 2017, “Top 100 List-Houston Region” Texas Super Lawyers® in 2007 to 2010, 2013 – 2014, 2016-2017, “Top 50 Women in Texas” Texas Super Lawyers® in 2007, 2009 to 2013, 2014, 2016-2017 and “Top 100 List-Texas” Texas Super Lawyers® in 2009 to 2011, 2013 – 2014 and 2016. She was also selected for inclusion as a Super Lawyer® Corporate Counsel Edition, (Thomson Reuters) in August 2008-2010 for Civil Litigation Defense.
Smith is a graduate of Lamar University and Baylor University School of Law. She practices in the firm’s Houston and Beaumont offices and is involved in various community organizations for the Golden Triangle.
