Inquiry
Welcome! We are excited that you are interested in Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School as your child’s educational option. At this time, we are accepting inquiries for the 2021-2022 school year. Our goal is that every prospective family experiences what makes Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School such an outstanding school and community.
Our Director of Admissions works with future families to answer questions, provide access to campus life, and help throughout the entire admissions process. If you are interested in having a personalized Campus Tour, contact Carrie Aulbaugh to receive more information: 409-866-2351, ext. 139.
Application Process
We are now accepting Online Applications for the 2021-2022 school year. To complete the online application, select the green button labeled, Apply Online. This application consists of 7 sections and must be submitted with a $50 application fee.
Once the application is received, the Admissions Director will email the prospective student’s guardian the Transcript Record Release Form. The guardian signs and submits this form to the prospective student’s current school for release of records. The necessary records that will be considered for acceptance are student’s report cards from the last two academic school years, most recent standardized testing, attendance and behavior records from the current school year.
An Entrance Exam is required for all new, incoming students. Incoming freshmen are required to take the High School Placement Test as an admissions step. Transfer students are required to complete the Educational Development Series Test to be considered for admission. Please contact Carrie Aulbaugh to schedule the appropriate testing: 409-866-2351, ext. 139.
Our selective admissions decisions are based on:
- Compatibility with the Kelly High School community and a sincere desire to be a Kelly Bulldog
- High School Placement Exam Results (incoming 9th graders) & Educational Development Series Test Results (incoming transfer students)
- Overall record (academic, behavioral and attendance)
- Quality of application (essay, involvement in school activities)
Shadowing/Interview
There’s no better way to see what Kelly is all about than to visit our school. Shadow Days allow all prospective students to attend classes with one of our Kelly Student Ambassadors. The prospective student will be paired with an ambassador of the same age and similar interest. To schedule a Shadow Day, the student must have submitted a New Student Application. If interested, please contact the Director of Admissions and Recruitment at (409) 866-2351, ext. 139.
For incoming students who attend non-partnered schools, Interviews with Admissions Director and/or principals will be required. This is an opportunity for us to get to know the family on a personal level to discuss student’s goals, expectations, and potential challenges.
Registration
After your student’s online application steps have been completed, acceptance will be determined. The prospective student’s guardian will receive an acceptance letter through email. The directions to register the student can be found at the bottom of this acceptance letter.
Guardians will need to log back into their account through the New Student Portal. Once logged in, a registration link can be found on the home page. Guardians must provide the additional information requested (such as birth certificate, social security card, vaccination records, etc.). As of now, the registration fee is $250.
MKCHS admits students without regard to gender, race, creed or National or ethnic origin. Non-Catholic students are admitted provided they, and their parents/guardians are willing to subscribe to the religious philosophy and program of the school. Priority is given to students, Catholic and non-Catholic, entering from our partner schools. Students from schools outside of our partner schools are admitted on a space-available basis.
