There are many social media posts going on about the new Momo Challenge. We’ve seen other challenges over the year like the Birdbox Challenge, Tide Pod Challenge, Drake Challenge, and last year’s Blue Whale Challenge. Sometimes we wonder as parents how can we stay on top of all these trends tempting our kids with risk-taking behaviors, self-harm, and ultimately suicide? One good resource for reliable information can be found at smartsocial.com. Whether or not your teens follow social media challenges, it’s always good to have open and honest conversations about these viral videos so our teens understand our values and the importance of online safety.
Senior parents –As of March 5th, we have 89 of our 108 students with submitted application status for the senior class and we want that to be at 100%! Whether you are planning for a vocational training or certificate program, or a 2 or 4 year school, everyone needs a plan for post-graduation college and workforce readiness. If your son or daughter needs help applying for college, scholarships, or any other college prep assistance please reach out to your counselor.
Junior Parents – We are excited about the College Fair Field Trip on the 28th. We have 81 students who turned in their form. After going through the numbers we have 19 spots left on the bus. If anyone wants one of these spots please contact Mrs. Clayton by Thursday, March 21st.
Sophomore Parents –Individual conferences were completed before spring break and course request proof sheets are going home with students via Theology class this week; there is no need to return the form unless there is a change or correction to be made.
Freshman Parents – Tonight is our class meeting in the Café from 6 – 7 p.m. We will go over significant information on the new online re-registration process, scheduling classes for next year, and much more! Students are encouraged, but not required to attend with parents. You will receive a packet with your son’s or daughter’s transcript and his or her PSAT scores upon entrance to the meeting. If you are not able to attend, these packets will be sent home the following days via Theology classes. Individual conferences begin on March 25th. Contact your counselor if you need to change your day or time.
Only 9 weeks left until summer! Let’s make it a spring to celebrate!
