As spring events are coming around and summer is near, this article can help parents when talking with their kids about alcohol. Think drinking at home is safer? Check out this excerpt is from the Washington Post:
Seniors, as of today, April 3, we have 98 of our 108 students with college applications in Naviance. If you need help with your applications, please see your counselor for assistance. We also ask that you please update your account this week with every scholarship OFFER you’ve had, even if you did not accept the offer. These can be from colleges, independent agencies, etc. Please continue to enter them up through graduation since the updated totals will be reported at awards day and at graduation. Also, May 1st is National Decision Day for college acceptance. Please update your Naviance account with all acceptance offers and finally indicate your school of choice and major of study. You will need to decline other offers to colleges you have decided not to attend so that they may open spots for other students on the waitlist. Your final transcript will be sent to your college of choice in Naviance. If you change your mind after graduation, you will need to let our Registrar know where you enroll in August. Your MKCHS email will remain active as a way to communicate with us after graduation. If you have questions please ask your counselor or the registrar. We are here to help! Below is an excellent article from a college admissions expert on Facebook navigating the decisions over the next few weeks:
Juniors, thank you for being such wonderful representatives of MKCHS at the National College Fair! We also appreciate all of the parents who chaperoned with us. The student feedback was positive and students were able to learn about opportunities they never considered before! Keep referencing the College Prep Handbook on the Counseling Page of our Website to stay on track for Senior Year! https://mkchs.com/academics/counseling-office/
Sophomores, keep up the good work, and let us know if you need any assistance these last 2 months of school. Be sure to check the College Prep Handbook for preparing for Junior Year! https://mkchs.com/academics/counseling-office/
Freshmen, thanks to all the parents that came out for our freshman class meeting. Freshman conferences continue this week as we prepare for sophomore year. Once all conferences have been concluded we will send out course proof sheets for you to review. All course request changes will need to be submitted before you leave for summer.
