Hello Kelly Family,
What a wild ride the first quarter of school has been! Between COVID protocols, hurricanes, and storm clean-ups, we are just beginning to get into the rhythm of a somewhat normal school schedule! Through all the ups and downs, I am continually impressed with our students, faculty, and families!
We are pleased to welcome two new faculty members to the Bulldog Family: Nancy Cook – Theology, and Gordon Oge’ – Computer Science.
The month of October is usually one of community building events, and we are working hard to modify our traditions within the current COVID-19 limitations. We are looking forward to celebrating Senior Night on October 9 at the football game vs. Trinity Christian. We have a very exciting HOCO Week planned October 19 -23 with a variety of fun events including Food Fest, a private concert in Bulldog Stadium featuring local country music artist, Tracy Byrd, a Parade and Pep Rally in downtown Beaumont, all culminating with the Homecoming Football Game vs. The Village School with exciting half-time HOCO fanfare. We hope students, parents, and fans will join us at Bulldog Stadium to cheer on our DAWGS!
As we begin the second nine weeks, we welcome back many of our distance learners! We love having the students back in class and want to be able to continue face to face instruction, so please continue to be mindful of wearing masks correctly as well as socially distancing.
A reminder to all students, if you find yourself needing a little extra help going over class content, you can set up tutoring appointments with your teachers before school (7:30am-8:30am) and after school (3:25pm-4:00pm). Another great tutoring tool is to set up a google meets with your teacher. We want all of our students to be successful!
I would like to thank all of our students and parents for showing such resilience and grace throughout these unprecedented times. I am so proud to be a part of this amazing Kelly Family. Go DAWGS!
With Bulldog pride and God’s abundant blessings,
Dr. Terri
