Home and School Association
At MKCHS, we consider each family part of the Home and School Association (HSA). HSA prides itself as an organization that brings parents and guardians closer with students, teachers, and staff. It provides each member with opportunity to play a vital role in helping their teens succeed in school. Getting involved is a great way to show your kids that you take an interest in their education.
Meet our HSA Leaders…

President, Theresa Herink
Theresa currently serves the MKCHS community as the President of Home and School Association. Catholic Education and serving others is very important to her family. Their motto is: “Together we carry Christ in our hearts wherever we go”.
Theresa and her husband Joe are proud Bulldog parents of three KHS graduates (Tristan ’14, McKayla ’15, and Zachary ’16) and two Kelly Sophomores (Noah ’24, Trenton ’24).
Theresa volunteers as the assistant Sacristan at St. Anne Catholic Church, Diocesan Stewardship Council member and Co-Director of the annual St. Katharine Drexel Humanitarian Health Fair. In her spare time she loves staying active with her family, spending time at the lake and being available.

Vice President, Karen Fabre Babineaux
Karen currently serves the MKCHS community as the Vice President of Home and School Association.
She is a successful entrepreneur with a background in business management and criminal justice. She retired in 2015 to focus on her daughter who is currently a sophomore at Kelly. Karen served on the Home and School Association Board for St. Anne School in various capacities from 2013 – 2018. She is actively involved in the community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Garth House, the Board of Trustees for the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, and the Executive Board for the Symphony League of Beaumont. Karen enjoys being involved in her community, reading, boxing and gardening.

Secretary and Treasurer, Amy Rinando
Amy currently serves the MKCHS community as Secretary and Treasurer for HSA. Her husband Vince is a 1988 MKCHS graduate, daughter Anna is a 2015 MKCHS graduate, and son Nick is currently a sophomore, Class of 2024.
She currently serves on the school board for St. Anne Catholic School, where she is on the Executive Board and the Finance Committee. In the past, she has served on several HSA committees at SAS, including Halloween Carnival Treasurer, Teacher Appreciation Week committee member, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon co-chair, Homeroom Mom and previously volunteered with HSA and KDF during her daughter’s time at Kelly.
Amy is looking forward to serving HSA and MKCHS in many ways; from fundraising to block parties, supporting athletics and fine arts programs, and helping provide the teachers and staff with delicious meals and treats throughout the year. Amy wants to welcome and get to know the parents of Kelly High School and their talents, so that we can get more involvement to help support our school.
Amy “retired” last year from a 22 year career in insurance, specializing in claims and litigation. She enjoys reading, cooking, shopping and traveling. Her most favorite vacation of all time was to Grand Cayman Islands in 2019.

Past President and Liaison, Marianna Byrnes
Marianna currently serves the MKCHS community as the Home and School Past President and liaison to our school community.
Her mother and numerous aunts and uncles, along with her three older children (Brian ‘13, Kathryn ’16, and Kyle ‘18) graduated from Kelly High School. Her youngest Madelyn ‘24 is starting her sophomore year. Marianna has been a parent volunteer for the past 20 years, involved with the Beaumont Diocese and St. Anne Church. She is always here to answers any questions to our current MKCHS families.
She is presently serving as chairman of the student spirit hospitality committee. Marianna has a degree from Lamar University in elementary education. She is involved with the Symphony League school program and string competition, St. Anne Catholic Church Ladies, and serves on the MKCHS school advancement committee. Marianna loves to travel, garden and has always appreciated watching her kids participate in the many activities MKCHS has to offer. Marianna and her husband David are big Aggie fans.
