Scholarship gifts are critical in order to enable all who desire an education at Kelly High School to attend. Thanks to the exceptional support of our scholarship donors, every year we are able to award scholarships that assist deserving Kelly students with tuition and fees.
Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School offers three types of scholarships:
Endowed Scholarships
Endowed scholarship funds are designed to be permanent and perpetual and can be created with gifts totaling a minimum amount of $10,000, contributed in full at the outset. The principal of the fund is invested in the Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School Foundation to produce income, and an annual award is made to a student(s) who meets the eligibility criteria determined by the donors. The principal remains untouched, so the endowment can last into perpetuity.
Annually Funded Scholarships
Donors may establish a named scholarship that does not require an endowment. Those wishing to establish a named annual scholarship with specified award criteria must pledge annual gifts of $500 or more. During that time, the funds will go directly to aiding a student(s) who meets the eligibility criteria determined by the donors.
Memorial Scholarships
Upon the death of a loved one, families may opt to designate that memorial donations made to MKCHS be specifically used to fund tuition assistance. If the total memorial donations received equal $10,000, an endowed scholarship will be established. Should the donations total less than $10,000, the funds donated will go directly to aiding a student(s) who meets the eligibility criteria determined by the donors until all donated funds are expended.
