Dear Parents, Students, and Friends of Kelly,
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a restful and peaceful Christmas break and is ready for the spring!
The re-registration process for 2020-2021 is now underway. Yesterday you should have received the e-mail with instructions for the re-enrollment process. Once completed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with instructions to set-up your FACTS tuition payment account. Your tuition category will be based upon your completed 2019 tax return.
Repairs to the school after Imelda are coming along. Over the holiday break, the flooring was replaced in the IC, offices and two classrooms in the front hallway. The flooring crew will continue working on the other classrooms a few at a time until completion.
Monday, January 20, is Martin Luther King Day and is a holiday for both students and staff.
Junior parents and students are highly encouraged to attend the counseling meeting on Thursday, January 23, at 6:00 p.m. in the café. The counselors will present information on class selection for next year, the college admission and financial aid process, and other useful information. Similar meetings for sophomores and freshmen are scheduled in the spring.
National Catholic Schools Week is January 27-31. We will have various activities at Kelly High School to celebrate the wonderful ministry of Catholic Education. On Wednesday, January 29, seniors will represent the school at the Bishop’s Rainbow Mass in which Bishop Guillory celebrates the wonderful diversity that is present in our Catholic school community. The Mass will be held at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica. Seniors will be dismissed from Kelly at 9:20 a.m. and are allowed to transport themselves to St. Anthony for Mass. After Mass, seniors may obtain lunch on their own but will be expected to return to Kelly by 1:55 p.m. for 4th block.
The High School Placement Test for incoming 9th graders will be on Saturday, February 1. If you know an 8th grader who is considering Kelly High School, please inform them of the test and have them contact our Admissions Director, Kiersten Lamb Lochridge if they have not already.
My hope and prayer for you and your family is that this New Year will be filled with joy and blessings.
