Dear Parents, Students, and Friends of Kelly,
We are now about halfway through the 2nd grading quarter. I don’t know about you, but the year seems to be ‘flying by’. Be sure to check the Parent Portal for your child’s current grades so nothing is a surprise as we get to the end of the semester.
We held our Prospective Parent Open House on Thursday, November 7, and are holding our 8th Grade Visit Day on Friday, November 15. If you know of any family with a child in the 8th grade, please tell them about Kelly and invite them to consider us. Word of mouth from friends is the most powerful marketing tool there is. Encourage them to call us and set up a visit. Or better yet, bring them by! Even if they aren’t able to attend the Visit Day Friday, we’d be happy to set an individual visit or shadow day. Contact Kiersten Lamb, Kelly’s Recruitment Director, for more information.
Friday and Saturday, November 15 & 16, the Drama Department will be presenting ‘Chemical Imbalance’ at 7:00 p.m. in the Randy Roane Theater. I hope everyone is able to come and enjoy their performance.
The sophomore class retreat will be on Wednesday, November 20. Students are to report to St. Jude Catholic Church on Gladys St. at 8:00 a.m. We will have a Kelly bus transport to and from the campus if anyone needs a ride from the school.
Friday, November 22 is an Early Release Day for Thanksgiving break. Students will be dismissed at 12:25 p.m. Students who qualified by selling and turning in money for their raffle tickets by the designated deadline, may ‘skip’ this day! Thanksgiving Holidays are November 25-29. When we return from the Thanksgiving break, there will be two (2) weeks of classes before semester exams begin.
The Season of Advent begins the Sunday after Thanksgiving. There are many resources and suggestions available through a quick Google search of ways to observe the season. In the hustle and bustle leading up to Christmas, make it a priority to set aside time for quiet, prayer, and scripture study. I encourage everyone to consider ways in which you might prepare yourself spiritually to truly observe and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior during the four week season.
Monday, December 9 will be the next All-School Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Centennial Complex. Please join us.
I hope everyone has a joyous and wonderful Thanksgiving and is able to spend time with family and friends remembering the many gifts and blessings our God has given to us.
