Dear Parents, Students, and Friends of Kelly,
Just a reminder about the re-enrollment process for next year:
- You should have already received an e-mail with a link to your enrollment information. Open that link, revise any information necessary, and then submit. If you’ve lost or need this e-mail resent, please contact the Counseling office at ext. 110.
- Submit your requested financial information for 2019 to FACTS. This information will be used to assign tuition categories and is the primary tuition assistance offered by Kelly HS. Once your tuition category has been confirmed, a confirmation will be sent to you and the 2020-2021 tuition will begin being drawn in July 2020.
- Later this spring, instructions will be sent for those wishing to be considered for additional tuition assistance.
MKCHS is pleased to report that over the last five (5) years, our school has had 20 students recognized by the College Board as National Merit Semi-Finalists, Finalists, Commended Scholars, or Hispanic Scholars. This year, we congratulate Jerard Bajar and Derek Brasher for being named National Merit Scholarship Finalists!
TWIRP Week will be February, 10-15. Student Council is organizing a number of activities to celebrate the week which will end in a dance on Saturday, February 15, in the Randy Roane Theatre. The evening activities are suggestions only and not sponsored by the school.
The Voice of Kelly High School will hold a concert on Tuesday, February 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Randy Roane Theatre.
The counselors will host their annual parent meeting for sophomores on Thursday, February 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the café.
Monday, February 17 is Presidents’ Day and will be an In-Service Day for staff and a holiday for students!
The Junior Retreat is scheduled for Wednesday, February 19 at St. Jude Catholic Church on Gladys St. Juniors should report directly to St. Jude that morning by 8:30 a.m. and will be dismissed from there at the end of the retreat, about 2:30 p.m. Transportation will be provided for any juniors who may need a ride.
The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 26. We will hold an All-School Mass that day at 9:30 a.m. As is customary in the Catholic tradition, during the liturgy ashes will be distributed as a reminder that we are all mortal and will, one day, return to God.
Monday, March 2, Mu Alpha Theta, the Mathematics Honor Society, will induct its new members for the 2019-2020 school year. The induction ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Bishop Guillory has named a search committee to make a recommendation to him for the next Principal of Kelly High School. That committee has begun the interviewing process. Please pray with me that God will provide a leader who will bring to the school the vision and leadership He desires. God bless you and your family.
