Dear Parents, Students, and Friends of Kelly,
The first HS Placement Test for 2017-18 freshmen was Saturday, Jan. 21. The results are used, along with Middle School grades and other standardized test results, to aid us in the acceptance and course placement process. The test will be offered again in February. Please contact Taylor Henderson, Kelly HS’s Admissions Director, (email@example.com) to register.
Catholic Schools Week will be Jan. 29 – Feb. 4 across the United States. Dioceses around the country will be celebrating the wonderful ministry of Catholic Education. Here at Kelly HS, we will have special activities each day beginning with a Parent Appreciation Prayer Service on Monday, Jan. 29 at 9:15 am. I want to invite all parents who are able to attend to please come as we acknowledge the commitment and investment you have chosen to make in order to provide Catholic Education for your son or daughter.
The re-registration process for the2017-18 school year has begun. Juniors are in the midst of individual conferences with the counselor to select classes for next year. The evening meetings for current sophomores and their parents will be Jan. 26 and for current freshmen and their parents on Feb. 7. The meetings will begin at 6:00 pm. Information for re-registration and appointment times for individual meetings will be distributed. Registration paperwork may be returned at those individual meetings, but is due no later than March 31. After that date the registration fee increases.
Each of the 8th grade classes from our feeder schools will be spending a day at Kelly in early February as they begin their registration process for next year. Those students will be paired with Kelly students, visit a couple classes, have lunch, and be able to experience a normal day at Kelly HS. Word of mouth is the very best advertising. If you know of an 8th grader, or current high school student, who may be interested in Kelly HS, please invite them to give us a call.
Softball and baseball have begun their seasons and track will soon. If you are interested in volunteering with these sports, please contact Mr. Ashby, Ms. Desmarais, or the appropriate coach for further information.
TWIRP Week is this week and will include special dress days, as well as a few suggested evening activities. The TWIRP Dance will be Saturday, Jan. 28 from 8:00-11:00 pm. in the Randy Roane Theater. There is a flyer posted in this newsletter.
In His Name,
Roger S. Bemis
