Dear Parents, Students, and Friends of Kelly,
Despite the interruption of Harvey, the school year is flying by. We have just completed the first grading quarter so the year is already 25% completed!
Wednesday, Oct. 18 is our next All-School Mass at 9:30am in the Centennial Complex. Please join us.
Report Card Night and Open House is Thursday, Oct. 19. Report cards may be picked up by a parent between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. Teachers will be available for short conferences if you have questions or concerns about a grade. At 5:30pm, we will have a short meeting in the café and then dismiss parents to visit their child’s classes to meet the teacher and learn about the class. We will run an 8 block schedule and allow 6-7 minutes in each class. Home & School will provide some refreshments in the cafeteria.
Also on Thursday, Oct. 19 we will host Mr. Chihira Sugihara at 10:00am in the Centennial Complex. Mr. Sugihara’s grandfather was the Japanese Vice Consul in Lithuania during Hitler’s rise to power. He will tell the story of his grandfather defying the orders of his government by issuing travel visas to some 6,000 Jews so they could escape Hitler’s extermination efforts. We invite you to join us for this presentation.
Friday, Oct. 20 at 6:00pm in the Cafe is our first Campus Ministry Night. Our new Campus Minister, Mr. Krause, is hosting the free event which will include a movie, food, and fellowship. Please encourage your student to attend.
On Tuesday, Oct. 31 (Halloween!) we will hold our annual Fall Into Place presentation. Students will hear about the Spring Into Action community service event which will be held in February.
Congratulations to the thirty (30) recent inductees into Mu Alpha Theta (Mathematics Honor Society) and the thirty three (33) inductees into the National Honor Society.
