Dear Parents, Students, and Friends of Kelly,
Applications and re-enrollment are now being completed on-line. We have been made aware of a few ‘bugs’, but for the most part it is working smoothly. If you’ve not yet done so, please complete and submit your re-enrollment ASAP. If you need assistance, call the counseling or admissions office (ext. #110 or 139). The re-enrollment fee goes up April 1.
As previously announced, the diocesan Catholic School Principals have selected Tommy Hilfiger as the new uniform provider. Currently owned uniforms from Parker may still be worn. As old items are replaced with Hilfiger items, Parker items will eventually be phased out.
Spring Break is March 12-16. I urge all students to make smart choices about activities and behaviors during the break. Although our culture seems to place a ‘premium’ on dangerous and unsafe actions, please remember that your life is a precious gift and poor decisions can have life-altering, if not life-ending, consequences.
Congratulations to Kelly’s Mock Trial Team. They earned a 5th place finish recently at the State Mock Trial Competition. Even to qualify for the State Competition is an honor and an accomplishment. The team performed better than 22 other teams from both public and private schools from around Texas. Franyon Blanton earned 2nd place in the courtroom artist portion of the competition and Cecily Sheild and Isabella Meadows were both selected as one of the eight (8) best witnesses of the competition (Kelly was the only school to have three students selected for top honors!) A special thanks to Mrs. Redmond, the Mock Trial sponsor, and to the attorneys who have given so freely and generously of their time all year long to prepare our team for competition.
The 3rd grading quarter ends Friday, March 9. Report cards will be available for pick-up by parents at ‘Report Card Night’ on Thursday, March 22 from 3:30-5:30pm. Report cards not picked up will be mailed to parents on Friday, March 23.
Easter is quickly approaching. On Thursday, March 29 [Holy Thursday], students that did NOT sell all of their raffle tickets will be dismissed at 12:20pm—the students that did will have the whole day off. Friday, March 30 is Good Friday and is a school holiday, as is Easter Monday, April 2. School will resume at 8:15am on Tuesday, April 3.
