Class of 2016
The Commencement Ceremony for the Graduating Class of 2016 was held last weekend. The 104 graduating students have been offered almost $4.7 million in college scholarships so far! Members of the Class of 2016 are planning to attend more than 40 different colleges and universities around the country. They have been a wonderful group of students and leaders and I will miss them. Please join me in praying for a wonderful, safe, and joy-filled future for each of them.
Mrs. Brandi Wulf will be the instructor for our summer school Speech class. Class will begin on Thursday, June 2 at 8:30 am in the IC. A list of registered students has been posted at Kelly and sent to the feeder schools, so students may confirm they have been registered. The class is full.
Health and Government did not have enough students registered. Therefore, those classes will not be held this summer.
At last count, there were about 20 current students (9th-11th grade) from whom we have not received re-enrollment paperwork. If you have not yet re-enrolled your student, please do so as soon as possible. Currently, the 9th grade class for next year has 115 students enrolled. We plan to cap the freshman class at 120 students.
Jump Start is scheduled for Monday, August 1. On this day, I-Pads will be issued, fees will be collected, course schedules distributed, and textbook instructions given. More information regarding the time schedule for Jump Start will be emailed later. The first day of class for freshmen is Wednesday, August 10, 2016 and upperclassmen the following day, August 11. It is very important that everyone make every effort to attend Jump Start, so please put the date on your calendar now.
Kelly High School Accreditation
We have just been informed that the Texas Catholic Conference has again awarded Kelly HS full accreditation for the next seven years. During the Commission meeting in which our status was considered, our superintendent, Mrs. Stevens, was commended for our curriculum documents and alignment which were presented to the visiting team in February.
I hope and pray everyone has a safe, restful and peace-filled summer.
