Join Kelly High School in welcoming new staff members:
Lauren Melancon – Librarian, Pre-AP Freshmen English: Mrs. Melancon comes to us with more than 15 years of English teaching experience, most recently in the Pt. Neches Groves School District. She has a BA degree from Lamar in English and Teacher Certification in Secondary English. She has completed some post-graduate work in Teacher Leadership and is currently working to complete her Master’s Degree in School Library Administration from Sam Houston State University. Mrs. Melancon is our new librarian and also teaching two (2) sections of Freshman English.
Debby Moon – Campus Minister, Theology: Mrs. Moon is a Kelly High School alum and has more than 15 years of teaching experience. Many will recognize Mrs. Moon from St. Anne where she has worked for the past 8 yrs. Mrs. Moon received a BS degree from Lamar University in Education and is Texas Teacher certified. She is currently working to complete her Masters of Theology from Loyola University in New Orleans. Mrs. Moon will be serving as Kelly’s Camus Minister and is teaching two (2) sections of Sophomore Theology.
Lindsey Ramey – Director of Development: Mrs. Ramey is a Kelly High School alum. She attended Baylor University and received a BS in Early Childhood Development. After college, she worked in private industry and spent the last 3 years working with the local Alzheimer’s Association as the Regional Director. Here at Kelly, she is focusing on fundraising and alumni relations.
Sheree’ Downs – Girls’ Athletics, Special Needs: Sheree Downs has more than 25 years of teaching and coaching experience, most recently at West Brook. She has a BS degree from Lamar University and a MEd in Administration, also from Lamar University. Mrs. Downs has certification in PE, Special Needs, and administration. She is the Head Coach for Volleyball and Girls’ basketball and serves as Kelly’s Special Needs Coordinator.
Richard Scott – Part-Time Latin: Mr. Scott is a Kelly HS alum who attended Southern Methodist University where he obtained a BA degree majoring in English and Religious Studies and minoring in Latin and Classical Studies. Obviously he possesses a very diverse educational background. He will be teaching three (3) sections of Latin.
Lawrence Williams – Dean of Students, Boys’ Basketball: Mr. Williams came to Kelly last year as Head Boys Basketball Coach and later in the year was asked to serve as the Dean of Students as well. So, he is somewhat in a new role this year. He will remain as Head Boys’ Basketball Coach but his primary responsibilities will be serving as Dean of Students.
