Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School: Admissions Process
MKCHS ADMITS STUDENTS WITHOUT REGARD TO GENDER, RACE, CREED, OR NATIONAL OR ETHNIC ORIGIN.
Welcome! We are excited that you are interested in becoming part of the Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School family. We will begin accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year on January 4th. Click here to complete the online application.
Once the application is received, the prospective student’s guardian will need to submit the Transcript Record Release Form. The guardian will sign and submit this form to the prospective student’s current school for the release of records. The necessary records that will be considered for acceptance are students’ most recent report card, most recent standardized testing, attendance, and behavior records from the current school year.
An Entrance Exam is required for all new students. Incoming freshmen are required to take the High School Placement Test. Transfer students are required to complete the Educational Development Series Test to be considered for admission. Our selective admissions decisions are based on:
Compatibility with the Kelly High School community and a sincere desire to be a Kelly Bulldog
High School Placement Exam Results (incoming 9th graders) & Educational Development Series Test Results (incoming transfer students)
Overall record (academic, behavioral, and attendance)
Quality of application (essay, involvement in school activities)
Interview
After we receive your application, our team may reach out to schedule an interview. This is an opportunity for our Kelly family to get to know your family on a personal level and to discuss your student’s goals, expectations, and potential challenges.
Registration
After your student’s online application steps have been completed, acceptance will be determined. The prospective student’s guardian will receive an acceptance letter through email. The directions to register the student can be found at the bottom of this acceptance letter.
Guardians will need to log back into their account through the New Student Portal. Once logged in, click the registration link on the home page. Guardians must provide the additional information requested (such as birth certificate, social security card, vaccination records, etc.). The non-refundable registration fee is $250. For those who complete registration after January 31st, the registration fee is $400.
