The school board met on December 6. Mr. Bemis reported that the Finance committee has prepared a preliminary budget submission for the 2017-2018 school year. This budget reflects a slight increase in tuition to allow for salary increases as well as the addition of a full-time Campus Minister to promote the mission of our school. Russ Waddill moved to approve the budget submission, Gillian Jenkins seconded and the motion carried.
Mr. Bemis also announced that James Ashby is the interim Athletic Director, and that Brody David is the interim football coach in charge of football PE. Mr. Bemis has posted the Head Football Coach/AD position in several publications and websites and will form a hiring committee soon.
The importance of meeting our Annual Fund goal is to help control tuition increase and this was discussed. The board was encouraged by Russ Waddill to have 100% participation in the Annual Fund.
Our next meeting will be held in January.
