Let's give a warm welcome our new Academic Counselor, Brandy Whisenant!
Ms. Whisenant comes to us with 20 years experience as a Career and Technical Education teacher. She received her undergraduate degree at Sam Houston State University in General Agriculture with a minor in secondary education in December 2003 and earned her graduate degree from Lamar University in Counseling and Development in May 2023. Ms. Whisenant has taught at three different school districts (Vidor
ISD, Little Cypress Mauriceville CISD, and Humble ISD) before becoming a Kelly Bulldog. For the last 10 years she has worked to begin and build the FFA, Floral Design and Veterinary Science programs at Vidor High School. As an FFA advisor she has coached a number of students in leadership, public speaking, and career development competitions; as well as supervised a number of plant and animal student projects. In addition to being an educator Ms. Whisenant also has four children and one granddaughter that she loves spending time with. If you happen to see Ms. Whisenant outside of school, you may find her at places like Goodwill, Treasure House, an antique shop, or Hobby Lobby because her hobbies include thrifting and crafts.
