Last Friday, our Kelly Bulldogs stepped out of the classroom and into the community for Spring into Action! Students volunteered their time with organizations and charities across Southeast Texas, making a real difference through acts of service. From supporting local shelters to cleaning up parks and helping at food banks, our students lived out the values of compassion and generosity. These experiences continue to shape them as leaders, fostering a future grounded in faith and service. We’re so proud of our Bulldogs for putting their hearts into action!

Yesterday, Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School had the pleasure of hosting the Central Diocesan Vicariate Meeting. After gathering for discussions, our priests enjoyed lunch and a special tour of the school. It was a special visit for some, a walk down memory lane, like Msgr. Salvador Culatta, who got to see his class composite from Kelly Class of 1946! It was an honor to welcome these shepherds of our faith and share the legacy of Kelly with them. #WeAreKelly #DawgProud

🌟Alumni Spotlight: Katharine Maloney Tatum ‘99🌟 At Kelly High School, we are proud to celebrate our alumni who embody the values of faith, service, and generosity. Today, we shine a spotlight on Katharine Maloney Tatum, a 1999 graduate of St. Anne’s and Kelly High School, who is making a profound impact on someone’s life. Katharine and her husband, Trent Tatum ‘99, currently reside in Casper, Wyoming, with their two young children. About a decade ago, Katharine signed up to be a bone marrow donor, a decision she had nearly forgotten. However, this past Christmas, she received a life changing call, she was a perfect match for a 25-year-old young man in Spain in desperate need of a transplant. Now, her journey begins. This Monday, February 24th, Katharine and Trent will travel to Washington, D.C., where she will undergo the donation process, a selfless act that could save a life. This incredible story reminds us of the power of service and the importance of answering the call to help others. At Kelly High School, we strive to instill a spirit of giving in our students so that as they go out into the world, they remain deeply connected to serving their communities and beyond. We are incredibly proud of Katharine and her willingness to make a difference. Please join us in keeping Katharine, her family, and this young man in your prayers.

Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School takes great pride in highlighting the accomplishments of our alumni, and today we shine the spotlight on Harry Kumar (Class of 2006), whose career in public service has taken him to the heart of economic and trade policy in the United States. Currently, Harry serves as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he provides strategic guidance on economic policy, trade, and business development initiatives. In this role, he also advises on Capitol Hill engagement, legislative strategy, and key policy issues impacting the Department’s mission. Before returning to the Department of Commerce, Harry was the Director of Government Relations for Li-Cycle, where he led federal engagement on critical mineral and battery recycling policy. His expertise in legislative strategy was further honed in his previous role as Associate Director of Legislative Affairs at the Department of Commerce, where he managed congressional relations on significant policy initiatives. Harry’s passion for public service began on Capitol Hill, where he worked as Legislative Counsel for Representative Randy Weber, focusing on key policy matters. He then advanced to the U.S. Senate, where he served as a policy advisor to Senator Marco Rubio, playing a pivotal role in shaping legislative efforts related to commerce and issues concerning the State of Florida. Despite his impressive career in Washington, D.C., and beyond, Harry remains connected to his Beaumont roots. His parents, Drs. Nat and Saku Kumar, still reside in Beaumont, and his sister, Nitya Kumar Barrett (Class of 2008), lives with her husband, Barry, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Harry and his fiancée, Alexandra, currently reside in New York City. Harry’s journey from the halls of Kelly High School to the highest levels of government service is a testament to the strong foundation built at MKCHS. His dedication to public service and strategic leadership exemplifies the values instilled in all Kelly graduates. We are proud to celebrate Harry Kumar’s accomplishments and look forward to seeing his continued impact on the world!
